Over the years Tim has developed a great love for the outdoors and fishing. It all started when, as a child, his summers were spent with grandparents, Earl and Ella Tippit, in Pyatt, Arkansas. Pyatt is located along the now-famous Crooked Creek in northern Arkansas. His love for fishing and the outdoors brought him to Boiling Springs on the Big Piney river in the early-1970's, where he floated the Piney, and stayed with James Dorsey, Kenny Biermann and Jean Henderson. After seeing Boiling Springs and having so much fun with these guys, Tim never wanted to leave.
